Chapter 7 bankruptcy can permanently eliminate most debts. A partial list of debts that can be eliminated includes:
- Credit Cards
- Bank loans
- Medical Bills
- Pay-Day Loans
- Old utility or phone bills
- Auto deficiencies (repossession)
Debts that Cannot be Eliminated
Debts that are owed to the government are usually not included. A partial list of these debts includes:
- Recent Personal Taxes (but in certain cases old taxes are dischargeable)
- Child Support & Alimony
- Parking Tickets
- Student Loans (but in certain cases, student loans may be dischargeable)
